Best Multi-Country Itineraries Central Asia Silk Road

Browse more guides: India travel | Asia destinations Best Multi-Country Itineraries Central Asia Silk Road I traveled three weeks across Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan in 2018 - Bukhara, Samarkand, Khiva (Uzbekistan), then Bishkek and Issyk-Kul region Kyrgyzstan. By the end I'd accepted that Central Asian Silk Road travel delivers something specific that other regions cannot match - concentrated medieval Islamic architectural heritage combined with Soviet-era infrastructure overlay combined with extraordinary mountain landscapes. TL;DR: Top 4 cities: Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Tashkent. Days needed: 8-12. Best months: April-June and September-October (April was perfect for me , green steppe, 22-26 °C). Realistic budget: $35-90/day USD depending on hotel tier. Daily-driver transport: Afrosiyob bullet train Tashkent-Samarkand-Bukhara, then a 70-minute flight to Urgench for Khiva. Indian e-Vi...
